Diosdado "Dado" Sagat
a terraced rice village in Banaue, Philippines
Dado spends half his life on unstable oil rigs, saving what he can for the family back home. During off-seasons, he tends rice terraces with his daughter and grandchildren in Banaue, each step a balance against the relentless forces of time and nature. His mind is often caught in the recurring dream of a house with a stair to nowhere, reflecting the untrodden paths of his own worn-out body.
