Jonas De Smet
a canal-side workshop in Bruges, Belgium
Jonas found himself managing the Ferris wheel at the kermis because there was no one else to step in after his uncle got a bad back. He moved into a damp workshop by the canal, laying awake to the sound of dripping water. Surrounded by the clang of metal and the whisper of prayers in church benches, he became acutely aware of places where silence held power.
