Khaled Ben Ali

Khaled Ben Ali, a devoted shoe repairman, lives in a small date palm oasis outside of Douz in southern Tunisia. Each dawn, he tends to the vital irrigation channels of the grove, driven by an innate wisdom to preserve the land and his family's legacy. Haunted by the idea of the young moving away and the closet of shoes becoming mere relics, Khaled channels these fears into intricate, small-scale artworks that capture the fragility of tradition and memory.
