Malo Tafuna
a concrete block house in American Samoa
Malo Tafuna was born and raised in a modest concrete block house on the windward side of Tutuila, American Samoa. He discovered his passion for taxidermy as a young boy, fascinated by the intricate challenge of preserving lifelike details in the specimens that fishermen in his village would discard. His days are filled with the salty breeze of the ocean and the scent of preserving chemicals, as he expertly renders lifeless forms into captivating pieces of art. His primary motivation is to honor the memory of the animals while saving enough money to help his younger sister through her education.
