Sigríður Jónsdóttir
a geothermal town in Iceland's Westfjords
Sigríður, affectionately known as Sigga to the local fishermen and schoolteachers, has never strayed far from her tiny geothermal town in Iceland's Westfjords. At eighty, she spends her days immersed in the hissing warmth of the diner's dishwashing station, secretly composing music from the clinks and rhythms life offers up. She never allows photographs, preferring to let her music carry the soul of the place she loves.
